I'm reading The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to Maisie at the moment... and it reminded me of this internet classic. SNL Lazy Sunday rap

WATCH THIS... Beautiful footage of works of various light artists, culminating in some beautiful images and words from James Turrell. Imagine on Light
Quite entrancing footage of a man Trapped in an elevator for 41 hours... Actually just read the article to this too, which if you skim through has all the details about the trapped man. Which has an ending like a Paul Auster novel. The whole thing pretty much changed/ruined this poor mans whole life Article (you can go to the last page and not miss much)

History was made last week. Yes, finally we now have live hologram projection.

Carl Craig - gone all classical like in Paris... Oh la la
Geeky and pointless - but interesting... Microsoft Paint - made in HTML/CSS/JS
Flylo video... Kind of standard blacksploitation/nu-rave/porn/Sesame St fare really

S o u n d s f r o m s p a c e
Haven't check this yet... but should be dead good. Benji B interviewing Sly & Robbie.

Did however check this last night and it's super wicked and very good. Have Box Will Travel - by/with Charlie Dark. For all you Londoners it's in town on Nov 13 at the Albany... Go See It!

This Move-D podcast on Resident Advisor is properly amazing. Seriously good deep techno/house bits - without being boring ever. Best thing I've heard in ages.

Friday, October 10, 2008

Am hearing amazing things about this exhibition Merger at the Rocket Gallery in the Tea building, Shoreditch. Big Up David Restorick - taking over.

Thursday, October 09, 2008

Nice lil Westwood interview... The Big Dog speaks quietly

Wednesday, October 08, 2008

Z-Trip's - Obama Mix. I like Z-Trip... but not as much as I like Obama!... I do get the fear for thinking what if that Old Man and the Crazy Woman in specs got in... shudder...
Q-Tip - Gettin' Up. Just super really. Really!

I love Gary Young. He talks and acts like a proper journalist should, and he does these great video bits from America... and he wears bright green old school track suit tops.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Really should've given some love to the mighty Shook Mag before now... a) It's a great new music magazine, really well styled and written, b) it's edited by a good Lazy friend Sarah Marshall, c) it does free PDF downloads of each issue - but you should buy it otherwise they'll go bust, and d) it's named after super Lazy star Shook from Hong Kong... I'm sure.
I'd heard about this, but assumed that Prince had lawyer nuked all the videos of it... But no. Prince doing Radioheads Creep
Smash or Make some kids dream... assuming their dream really is to redesign the google logo. Whatever happened to dreaming of riding Romford Skatepark with Craig Campbell while Oliva Newton John sung 'Let's Get Physical' to you, and Marty Mcfly looked after your hover-board... Kids today...

Road music... "the noise has been irritating residents in the town of Lancaster so much that it is now going to be resurfaced." Boooo! Doen with the residents of Lancaster.

Pitchfork.tv brings us a 3 part Public Enemy's 'It takes a Nation of Millions...' documentary.

Thursday, September 11, 2008

I worked on a bit for this last Xmas. Light Up Bristol (3.43 - that's the bit I'm in on)...

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Bit old this but... Huge haul of Delia Derbyshire (of the BBC's Radiophonic Workshop in the 60's) works discovered. Including an experimental dance track she worked on, which sounds super amazing.

Monday, September 08, 2008

If only there were a place to get shit loads of dub tapes from... MrSoundTapes.com.

Lovely film by a Lazy.Paris affiliate Bastian aka Frank Loyard
Okay, so initially it's a man with a really annoying voice, dressed like a fool and seemingly asking antagonistic questions...
but he's actually really amazing, asks really interesting questions which blatantly lead the interviewee to talk about interesting elements of their past or knowledge and keeps pulling out amazing records to prompt or reveal parts of their history... Really good - check them all.

Nardwuar interviews Questlove

His whole site is here Nardwuar... but sometimes youtoob is jus easier.
Jon Stewart on Sarah Palin. Properly nails all the double standards.

Crazy arrests at the Republican Convention in America. This kind of stuff really makes you think again about visiting America... Remember all the arrests at the 2004 Republican Convention in NY.

Wednesday, September 03, 2008

Galaxy 2 Galaxy live in Japan. Massive
Black Secret Technology. Dropin' knowledge from the CERN crew.
The End. Shame, I remember a good few great nights there - especially with Tash and Midge 'n' Didge running around the club "working"... I also remember a rubbish night last time I went there - dubstep needs to work on a bit of atmosphere creativity.

Get your Laces Learn on. I expect to see some proper lace representation next time we meet.

Friday, August 29, 2008

Super video by Takashi Murakami for Kanye - Good Morning. Still can't love Kanye for some reason... seems to say a lot and supposidly is saying more than just bling, buy me, love me stuff... but I ain't never heard him say anything actually interesting or clever or relevant... and his beats ain't all that... just a bit generic... Still I do like this video - so he can sleep easy.

Monday, August 18, 2008

These people Infinate State Machine (wicked site) pointed me here Sound+ to get this Maurizio in Moscow with Tikiman
Hashima Island - The Forgotten Island. Tiny rock of an island once heavily populated then abandoned in 1974. Nice pics and sweet documentary showing a man returning to where he grew up.

Weburbanist. Dodgy name, but good place for all your graff, design and urban image type stuff

Steve Reich meets coke cans, meets metronomes and balance power

And hot new News! Meet THE INTERNET!
German/Type/Carpark... What more is there..?
Strangely nerve wracking... It's Air traffic control radio.
Wicked page and video and pics of a big ship about to sink, only to be rescued by a crack ship rescure team - who only get paid if they save the ship... and then get a percentage of the ship and cargo value - Ship thing.
Cleaning the Seattle Space Needle

TRON 2... who knew... ooo... get you...

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Haven't explored this fully as it is late and I have a 5 minute attentio...
anyway, this is a Philip Glass back cat, ibm glass engine, infinity edition machine thing. Seems to be a way of hearing lots/all of Philip Glass's (should be Glasses shouldn't it, ha ha) work, played through a strange IBM Glass Player thing.
The Resident Advisor podcast comes with another Mark E mix... Well slow like... but once you get in the groove it's very nice down there.
And, just in-case I've not mentioned it before... The Dj Deep Podcast. So essentioal. Always a brilliant mix of styles and sounds... updated irregularly, like all the best podcasts, but there is a new one up now... And I think you can still get all the old ones, and you should.

Tuesday, June 24, 2008

Heeeeerrrrreeee's Grace. Gutted I missed this. I said it would be dry... Turns out it was anything but... It's all about the lines at the end, as she turns around and plays with her bum to the crowd, 'It's nice to touch me'... 'Nobody else can touch me but me'

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Hannah Barbea Discography... Better than a Pingu mp3 collection..
Yeondoo Jung recreates childrens drawings in real-life. Tres sweet and quite beautiful.
I'm sure you all check the The White Noise Revisited lots, so you probably know this... but just incase you don't, check out Joe's amazing new podcast. Brilliant mix of guitar fuzz based music. I really enjoyed listening to this... Sounds I wouldn't normally hear. Properly good.
Techy thing... http://converttube.com/... Wicked little thing that lets you download Youtube movies... even converts them straight into iPod format. Kind of cut-out and keep tool for Youtube. Make your iPod useful when the conversation luls round the pub table.
Killer mp3 blog sent to me by the Hammer. Hactrax... If nothing else just check the Mr Fingers/Fingers INC cuts... so fucking nice.

...back... oh yeah
